How did you get into Speedway?

I started by helping out a friend crewing on their Saloon (51m) in the early 2000’s I ended up helping several crews for a while there and then My Husband became an SNZ official. I got to know the people involved in that side and when I had my daughter I started to help the drivers reps. I quickly became the Super saloon rep and was lucky enough to be the drivers rep for one of the biggest NZ sprint car champs that was ever held in the country.

Have you worked at other tracks or been involved in other Speedways in New Zealand?

Not in an official capacity but I have when I used to crew.

What does the role mean exactly tell us about the job?

I am responsible for talking to drivers before each race meeting to see who is able to attend and keeping them informed about up and coming events. I also do all the grids and points for the classes on the night as well as being the go between for the drivers and SNZ officials. If there is a protest I also have to be present and I am responsible for making sure that all drivers are fairly represented. Some nights can be very busy and stressful but that is what I love about what I do there.

Come talk to us before or after a race night and see what we do for a night.

What do you love about Speedway?

I love the speedway community, I have made so many friends over the years. I also love the fast pace. smell, the noise and the feel of speedway. There is just nothing like it!

What do you think of the changes made to Baypark Speedway since the new promotion started?

I think they are positive and moving and a new direction.

Do you have a favorite class or driver?

I can’t have a favourite driver in my position but  my favourite class would have to be the Super Saloons without a doubt!

Do you have any other sports that you get involved with?

No not really.

Is there anyone in the speedway that you look up to?

There are quite a few, probably too many to name.

Do you have any final words you would like to say?

I think I should get an award for my baking hahaha! It is something that has become very famous over the years and somewhat expected, especially my brownie.
