This season Baypark will host the 2025 New Zealand Super-Saloon Championship, Baypark has had a rise in registration within the class and we welcome back a new registration—but there’s nothing “new” about this driver!
Behind the wheel of the 16m Super Saloon is none other than Bruce Beaumont, a seasoned racer with a legacy stretching back to the late 1980s and early ’90s.

Bruce tore up the track back then, driving a powerful Chev Monza and Pontiac GTA, competing under the track letters M (Baypark), H (Huntly), and A (Waikaraka).
Notably, he earned a podium finish as 6m in the fiercely contested 1992-93 New Zealand Championship at Meeanee, placing third behind racing legends Geoff Fletcher (father of Jarred Fletcher) and Bryan Hartley (father of Brendon and Nelson Hartley).
Bruce also claimed third at the New Zealand Grand Prix at the original Baypark, lining up alongside icons Skinny Colson and Maurice Cowling. His return to the track is a thrill for fans and an incredible nod to a career worth celebrating!
