With the overwhelming response and number of entries for both the North Island Sprintcar Championship and the International Midgets, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the NI Sprint Car Championship to a date early in the New Year.

We worked all weekend on the race schedule for the 28th of December and we found we just could not fit it all in the 3.5 hours we have allotted to us at Baypark Speedway.

The team also went down the path of opening up either on the 27th or the 29th and both dates were declined.

To have International drivers back here on Kiwi clay is something we are all excited for, we are live streaming the event worldwide that evening and to try and cover both premier events, I’m just not sure we could do it in the time frame given.

We are currently working with SNZ to find a new date for the North Island Sprint Car Championship, once that date is confirmed we will announce it via our social media channels.

For all that have purchased tickets to attend the 28th and would like a refund because the NI Sprint Car Championship is not running, please let us know by emailing info@bayparkspeedway.co.nz

and we will happily refund your ticket purchase.

Again apologies. We just had too many entries in all the classes we have running that evening, and we believe all the classes should be showcased and not compromised.
